Rambøll is among the pioneers within the development of wave energy science and today, Rambøll have a leading role in developing systems for converting power from ocean waves using point absorbers operating offshore.

Rambøll possesses expert knowledge on research and development of wave energy systems, with comprehensive experience in technical and economical feasibility studies of wave energy plants.

Rambøll has thorough experience in the development of numerical models of wave activated floating systems combined with hydraulic power conversion. Rambøll has carried out numerous model experiments on wave power conversion and three large experiments in real sea and thereby gained considerable knowledge in system design, planning, measurements and data acquisition.

Rambøll has experience in co-ordinating European Research projects on Ocean Energy.
